Smart Mechanical Solutions LLC (SMS) has a rich history of experience with HVAC. Matter of fact, both our Estimating Chief and the Dir of Operations has a deep experience as a 3rd & 2nd generation HVAC professional respectively with a career spanning in excess of more than 38 years - 31 years in Venezuela and now another good 7 years of successful project implementation here in the DC Metro Area. SMS is skilled in Multizone, MPS, and VRF systems. We excel and specialize in Multi-Family & Restaurant & Tenant Buildout projects with our in-house crews and our own manufacturing capabilities. Put it this way, we love to go where most other HVAC professionals avoid based on our well organized structure and our niche experiences. We definitely look forward to tell you our success stories and help you understand how our Partner was appointed as the Technical Center for the LG Brand in Venezuela pertaining to the VRF system. Besides the installation of the HVAC system, our expertise includes manufacturing of ductwork, handling kitchen hoods and exhaust hoods systems.

Edgar’s experience in project management spans from small $20,000 retail outlet to expansive restaurant installation of $500,000 / project. The portfolio includes, Tenant Build Outs, Restaurants, Hospitals, Shopping Malls, Multi-Family projects, Government Buildings, Banks, Police Stations, Universities, Supermarkets, Airports, Universities, Hotels and even industrial projects (oil companies, brewery, paint manufacturers, food processing companies, chillers for plastic manufacturers etc)
To conclude, Edgar’s love HVAC-R & the kitchen hood system that he grew up with. Now with his extensive experience having completed VRF systems in Venezuela, Panama, Virginia, Maryland and DC, his biggest wish is to be part of the VRF wave that is coming to America in the next few years!
Dir of Operations - Jimmy Oh
Jimmy is our Director of Operations for Smart Mechanical Solutions. Besides having a Master Mechanical License and being skilled in all areas of HVAC, Jimmy has also gained invaluable hands-on experience in Refrigeration Systems and Kitchen Hood Systems installation. He is knowledgeable in Refrigeration Rack systems, Water Source Heat Pump systems, Restaurant Kitchen Hood systems (Type 1 & 2), Commercial HVAC system, Residential HVAC systems, Roof Top Units.
